My first portfolio website sported a background of flames with the text "Todd Sullivan's Portfolio" rolling across the top of the flames. The text moves slower while moving uphill and faster while moving downhill. The flames and the background of the inner pages gradually changes color as the view browses the website. This first version even included background music to round out its gaudy, Flash-based glory.
All of the images and inner pages are wrapped up into a single SWF file. This made the portfolio a rather poor example of website architecture and website distribution, but made it incredible easy to archive and display for you in this history section. Don't worry. I definitely had the foresight to think of archiving this version for a future portfolio history page. Thus, this poor architectural design was intentional. Seriously. =P
The rolling text was animated through actionscript while the other animations were motion tweens. A notable extra tidbit about the portfolio is that the Contact section contains a picture of me as a vector graphic. I blink every once in a while. =) Minus the hard lines that define my face on the graphic, the picture is an accurate portrayal of my appearance when I created my first portfolio website.
